So today I had the opportunity to watch the movie Persuasion. I truly wish I had read the book first so that I could enjoy it to the fullest. Yet, the movie in my view did total justice.
The movie is about a young woman who rejects the love of her life due to family pressure. She tries 8 years to forget him and yet she couldn't. Finally, when she comes out of the trauma she hears the news that he has come back into town after completing a mission with the navy. She tries to hold her own and behaves in a very graceful way but slowly starts to break down when they both decide to be friends and the man starts to take an interest in another woman. She finally accepts reality after many days of misery and meets another young man who makes her laugh, think, and mostly happy enough to forget everything else.
Later, a day comes bearing a piece of news that the other woman is getting married to a captain. She eventually breaks down more and finally decides to continue living her life with her family, friends, and relatives. The whole story revolves around navigating with her in her daily life. One day at a party, the captain reveals that he is off on another journey. He leaves behind a letter to her stating that he came back for her, in search of her, for not being able to forget her. She then realizes that the captain the other woman was supposed to marry is his friend, not himself. And that he is still hoping and waiting for her.
The vintage vibes of the movie make you believe that this kind of love story is completely plausible. Dakota Johnson has her own charm that carries the movie forward. In times, when the world is living in reality and realistic stories, a fairytale is what you need to again believe. Even though this seems like an ordinary story the dialogues spoken can pierce you and make you shed a tear or two (well, I know I cried). The dialogues that took my heart away were...
"Loving even when hope is gone. Loving because you don't have a choice." "It's okay to find love on your terms, however unorthodox." "Don't let anyone tell you how to live or who to love. I learned it the hard way. "
Life is always a combination of different experiences and changes..
Everyone has their own aspect of life.
Not every story be the same..
But,
A true love never ends..
It continues till the end..
Sometimes it may be Silent..
But it Vibrates the world with its natural power..
All the best 🤗
