Yeah.. yeah.. it is all in the title! Then why should I read this post? I don't know what to say except that you should read it because I might have mirrored your feelings!
I started watching Sitcoms when I was in the 2nd year of my Bachelors. I started with Friends, then moved up to Big bang theory, How I met your Mother, 2 Broke Girls and so on.. Before these, I always watched movies, TV shows and never really cared for them. I still remember the first time I watched the first episode of Friends and thought.. How can someone not get bored? I mean it´s just people talking to each other. (Do not judge me, okay maybe a little :P) Then one of my best friends - Geethika suggested that I go through with at least 5-6 episodes before jumping to conclusions. After that I was unstoppable. I could never thank you enough girl!!
It was very surprising to me, how much you can understand the characters, the instances, the situations, the decisions, the endings. (How I met Your Mother one was a bummer though!) You travel along the whole series journey with them and feel like an era has come to end after the ending. The thing about sitcoms is they can be so real sometimes that you can relate it to your own life and possibly get some advice out of it! Not only are they capable of entertaining you but also have the ability to never let you feel alone.
These days, I have been preparing for my exams and the routine of going out and meeting people is not aligning with my timeline. Hence, I am going through a re-run of the Big Bang Theory. It doesn´t mean I am dedicating all my time to it! It just cheers me up when I am too exhausted or when I feel like I cannot study anymore for the day. After a hearty laugh, I feel like I can go back to studying and pull through for 1 more hour. Well, that is how I am using sitcoms.
So, all I am trying to say is never underestimate what a good show with a good mixture of emotions can do to your life. Cheers to all the hard work by these actors and for many more to come!
