Distractions

How many of you agree distractions are a good thing? I don't think anybody does. Everyone would say, distractions are the main reason why people don't reach their goal. Distractions are the reason why people can't get through a whole lecture (there's boredom too but that's another days topic :P). Distractions are the reason why people spend so much time on social media scrolling through random stuff, jumping from one topic to another. Negativity for the word "distraction" aside, did you ever think of the it in a positive way or at least in a neutral way?

If one of your friend is going through breakup and you take him/her on a vacation for a few days. Isn't that a distraction from his/her real life for the time being? Wouldn't they enjoy by keeping all their worries aside? They may even start thinking about the breakup as a positive thing. Isn't this distraction good? After a long day at office, you open your phone, open any social media app and watch some memes or see pictures of your friends or have a chat with them or talk to your family on call. Wouldn't that lift your mood? Isn't that a distraction? After studying for hours together, your mom calls you for lunch and you get to see your favorite show or play your favorite video game for a while before you get back. Isn't that a good distraction? Movies, games, web series, hobbies, novels, workshops, travelling, gatherings, parties.... everything is a distraction for you unless you are making a living out of it. What no one ever told you was .. distractions aren't bad. They are as important as your goals. Without them you might just be a dull dud with no positive energy and the most uninteresting person in the world. The time they consume in your life makes them good or bad for you. It differs from person to person. How much time you spend distracting yourself from the real world is the line between differentiating a distraction as a good one or a bad one for you. Learn to balance that and you are good to go.
